Aspen Santa Fe Ballet's The Nutcracker: Dec. 9 & 10, 2017
This iconic production — both uplifting and filled with humor — has become a seasonal Aspen tradition. It presents a whimsical twist on the classic story and a cast of over 60 performers.
12 Days of Aspen: Dec. 20–31, 2017
During the 12 Days of Aspen, downtown Aspen is a hub of activity with everything from free ice skating, to holiday treats and carolers. Santa will be a part of the celebration, and to top it off, New Year’s Eve will be celebrated with fireworks over Aspen Mountain.
Winter X Games: Jan. 25–28, 2018
Taking place on Buttermilk Mountain, this is the world's best action sports, music, and festival experience — all on snow! All sport competitions are free and open to the public.
Wintersköl™: Jan. 11–14, 2018
Wintersköl is Aspen's annual "toast to winter" celebration, which features on-mountain activities, WinterFest, fireworks over Aspen Mountain and much more!
Owl Creek Chase: Feb. 11, 2018
A 21k Classic & Skate Nordic race, the Owl Creek Chase has been a top Rocky Mountain cross-country ski race since 1985.
Aspen Laff Festival: Feb. 21–24, 2018
Originated as the featured site for the HBO/U.S. Comedy Arts Festival for 13 years, and then spending three years as the co-producer and home of the Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, the Aspen Laff Festival made its debut in 2011.
Aspen Snowmass Freeskiing Open: Feb. 22–24, 2018
The Aspen Snowmass Open is one of the last and longest-running independent open competitions in the nation. It opens up the X Games Aspen Slopestyle, Superpipe, and Big Air courses to amateur and professional level athletes. A rail jam and big air competition are also offered.
Apres Ski Cocktail Classic: March 8–11, 2018
Based at The Little Nell, this slope-side celebration of the Après Ski Cocktail Experience in Aspen, Colorado features a Grand Tasting Village and Private Reserve Room of high marque spirits, artisanal craft cocktails, seminars by award-winning mixologists and brand ambassadors, snow parties, pop-up bars, demonstrations, fireside chats, spirit-paired dinners, special on-mountain events, and The Great Après Ski Pub Crawl.
Grand Traverse: March 23-24, 2018
The Grand Traverse is a backcountry ski race from Crested Butte to Aspen, Colorado. Competitors travel 40 miles over the Elk Mountains, climbing over 6,800 vertical feet.
Aspen Film Shortsfest: April 3-8, 2018
Recognized as one of the premier short film festivals in the world, this Oscar®-qualifying festival embraces diverse sensibilities and subjects that capture the zeitgeist of today’s world.
