 Aspen Highlands Opening Day:

Opening on Dec. 11, Aspen Highlands is a place to push hard and play hard, whether you’re carving new lines on expert terrain, hiking the Bowl, or reaching new heights of revelry at Cloud Nine.

Buttermilk Opening Day:

Opening on Dec. 11, Buttermilk is the perfect playground for kids and kids at heart to learn the basics, master the terrain park, skin uphill, or watch the world’s best freestylers in the X Games.

Annual Tree Lighting at The Little Nell:
The Little Nell’s festive, family-friendly event on Dec. 12 welcomes guests and the community to the courtyard at The Little Nell. Enjoy complimentary cookies and hot cocoa, gather to sing carols together and snap photos with Santa Claus. The event is complimentary with a required, advanced reservation on thelittlenell.com.

World Snow Polo Championship:

The highly-anticipated St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship will be held Dec. 18-19. Polo action will take place Saturday through Sunday at The Rio Grande Park.

12 Days of Aspen:
During the 12 Days of Aspen taking place Dec. 20-31, downtown Aspen is a hub of activity with everything from free ice skating, to holiday treats and carolers. Santa will be a part of the celebration, and to top it off, New Year’s Eve will be celebrated with fireworks over Aspen Mountain. 

Aspen’s New Year’s Eve Celebration:

Ring in the New Year at Aspen Mountain on Dec. 31. Experience a bonfire and a DJ in Wagner park from 6pm until 9pm and fireworks will start over Aspen Mountain at 8pm.

Wintersköl™:

Taking place Jan. 13–16, this annual winter festival celebrating Aspen’s distinctive Nordic lifestyle will feature a rail jam, snow sculpture competition, live music, a bonfire and fireworks over Aspen Mountain.

Aspen Gay Ski Week:

From Jan. 16-23, the oldest annual week-long gay ski event in the nation will feature four mountains of various skiing and snowboarding terrain, cross-country skiing, snowshoe and winter hiking trails.   

Winter X Games Aspen:

X Games Aspen 2022 will return to Buttermilk Mountain in Aspen Snowmass from Jan. 21-23. Nearly 100 of the world's top winter athletes will take center stage and will compete in the biggest snow sport event of the year. X Games Aspen is FREE to attend and will have live coverage of the event on ESPN, ESPN2, and ABC.
