A New Perspective - Brooke's Blog

A New Perspective - Brooke's Blog
The Snowmass Village Rodeo was a great time. I met and hung out with real cowboys who were nice enough to take me behind the scenes. I learned that this rodeo is the real deal; the bulls that are used for bull riding at the SMV Rodeo are considered to be in "the minor leagues." They observe the bulls, get them used to the crowds, and decide if they can make it into "the major leagues," if so, they move on. A great bucking bull can be worth upwards of $500,000!

There were cowboys and cowgirls from all over the U.S. Young and old alike shared similar passions, and their faces would light up when talking about their trade, whether it was barrel racing, team roping, bull riding, etc. I look forward to making it back to the rodeo before the season ends!
