2020: Using Creativity to Sell Multi-Million Dollar Aspen Properties During a Global Pandemic
In the Aspen luxury real estate market, creativity was key during 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic. Using my 35+ years of experience selling the Aspen area’s finest properties, the Gary Feldman Group at Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty contributed to more than $3 billion in 2020 sales volume for Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty. These year-to-date sales are greater than those for the four subsequently ranked Aspen real estate agencies combined.
In 2020, Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty sold 126 properties valued at over $5 million. Of these sales, 33% closed in-house.
How did we do it? During a pandemic, the internet offers the best connection to the outside world for potential buyers, and we use it to showcase our properties to the fullest extent. With every virtual tour from our MLS, our website provides direct access to clients’ favorite properties, and provides the most important facts for that area, all in a user-friendly format.
Plus, with Matterport, a revolutionary all-in-one 3D platform, we are able to provide anyone with the ability to fully experience a property from any device. With a few photos, we can create “virtual twins” of a property, with a virtual tour of the house, dollhouse view, and floor plans; and give viewers the ability to measure anything in the house. Users have the ability to walk through the home, look out the windows, look up to the ceilings, peek around a corner, and check out every nook and cranny. They just need to follow Matterport’s ghosted white circles by clicking, scrolling up/down, and right/left.

RiveRoar, located at 4076 Lower River Road, Snowmass, CO 81654: Built a mere 10 feet from the Roaring Fork River’s edge, this stunning 3,298-square-foot, 3-level home sold for $4.8 million. Featuring beautiful custom architectural design, the 3,880-square-foot estate includes four bedrooms and four bathrooms and is situated on a sprawling 3.23-acre lot overlooking the Roaring Fork River. 62 Prospector Road, Aspen, CO, 81611: Aspen Highlands’ most exclusive luxury townhome residence, this 6,426-square-foot property sold for $5 million. Boasting the ultimate resort lifestyle with ski-in/ski-out, Ritz-Carlton Club privileges, and 5-star concierge service, this townhome encompasses four bedrooms, six bathrooms, and one-half bathroom.
